Description
In memory of Samuel R. Myers, PROJECT 375 and the Myers family are hosting a Youth Mental Health First Aid training course and invite you to join.
PROJECT 375 is passionately dedicated to eradicating the stigma surrounding mental health by raising awareness and improving care for youth. Mental health is an essential part of children’s overall health and directly affects their ability to succeed in school, sports, at home and in society. We believe early prevention and intervention will save lives. For every one person we educate on mental illness one less has to suffer from it.
Youth Mental Health First Aid training (mentalhealthfirstaid.org) is an 8- hour public education program which introduces participants to the unique risk fac- tors and warning signs of mental health problems in adolescents, builds understanding of the importance of early intervention, and teaches individuals how to help an adolescent in crisis or experiencing a mental health challenge. Mental Health First Aid uses role-playing and simulations to demonstrate how to assess a mental health crisis; select interventions and provide initial help; and connect young people to professional, peer, social, and self-help care.
