SUMMARY:Strawberry Jazz Festival
DESCRIPTION:Strawberries and Jazz are back in Kankakee County at the Community Arts Council's Annual Strawberry Jazz Festival! Entertainment will be provided on three stages - the Center Court Jazz Stage\, the Community South Stage and the Outdoor Band Stage. Local theater groups\, dance troupes and musicians will perform throughout the day\, including The Kings of Dixieland\, Pat Polk performers\, Jazz Time\, BUGC Jazz Band\, the KVSOA Brass Quintet\, Limelight Theatre Works and the St. Anne Jazz Band. Area artists will be exhibiting original work throughout the Mall and local organizations will have information about membership and upcoming events. Nearly 100 vendors will include woodworking\, jewelry\, fiber art\, pottery and glass as well as furniture and other hand-crafted items. A children's area will include art activities and games as well as the popular Dime Toss. Food truck vendors will be serving summer favorites and offering specialty strawberry items including strawberry pie\, shortcake and ice cream as well as the crowd favorite - chocolate-covered strawberries. The Food Area\, with covered seating\, will be located at the main Festival Entrance in the West parking lot at the former Carson's Store for Ladies. Admission is free as always and the whole family is welcome. Northfield Square is fully accessible for persons with disabilities and the Mall stores will observe their regular hours of operation.
